A uPVC window is white plastic. Colour is a foil laminated onto the profile. That is why anthracite outside and white inside is a normal order: the foil goes on one face of the frame and sash, the other stays white. Wood-effect finishes are the same thing — printed and embossed films, not veneer.
Where the colours come from, and what about RAL
Foils come from film makers such as Renolit or Continental and each colour has a number. Suppliers publish "RAL equivalents", but they are approximate. If your project specifies RAL 7016, ask for the foil number and a physical sample. Screen colours and printed swatches are not reliable — the manufacturers say so themselves.
Aluminium is different. It is powder-coated, so any RAL Classic colour is possible, and two-tone frames are standard practice.
Two practical notes
- Non-standard colours add production time, sometimes weeks.
- The foil range differs between profile systems, so a decor available on one system may not exist on another.
Send us the system and the colour together, not separately — we check it before quoting. In the configurator the swatch book changes automatically with the chosen system, separately for outside and inside, with the real decor names from the VEKA, Kömmerling, Salamander and Gealan catalogues.
