To buy windows from Poland you only need the internet: you design the windows in the configurator or send a list of sizes, receive a quote with transport, approve the drawing, pay and take delivery at your address. Nobody comes to measure, and you arrange the fitting yourself. The whole process usually takes a few weeks, most of it production.
We have shipped windows abroad since the late 1990s. Below are the steps as they work with us, and the mistakes that most often hold an order up.
What should you prepare first?
- A list of openings: room, width, height, type (window, balcony door, sliding door).
- The opening side of every sash, described from inside the room.
- A decision on roller shutters, fly screens and sills. A top-mounted shutter changes the window height, so it has to be known before the quote.
- Access for a lorry and 2–3 people or a forklift to unload.
- An installer with a free slot around the delivery date.
Measure each opening in three places (top, middle, bottom) and write down the smallest figure. Step-by-step guidance is on the How it works page.
How to buy windows from Poland, step by step
1. Design the windows or send a list. In the window configurator you choose the system, glass, colour and extras, then add your windows. You see the price straight away, after every change. Or send a window schedule from your architect, a drawing or photos of the openings through the contact form. Write in your own language and we reply in it. 2. Get the quote. Within 3 working days you receive a quote with transport to your country, prepared by a person. If something will not work technically, we say so at once and suggest a change. 3. Settle the details. Colour from the sample chart, glazing, hardware, sills. Prices include VAT; for delivery to another EU country we charge VAT at the rate of the delivery country and settle it through the OSS scheme. You see the rate and amount in the quote. This is general information, not tax advice. 4. Approve the drawing and specification. Before production you get a drawing of every window. Check sizes, layout and opening sides item by item. 5. Pay 100%. By bank transfer or in the order portal. From then on the sizes are locked, because made-to-measure windows are excluded from the 14-day right of withdrawal (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(c)). 6. Wait for production. It takes 3–8 weeks from when payment clears, depending on system, colour, shutters and season. The exact date is in the confirmation. 7. See the photos. Before dispatch we show photos of the finished windows on the order tracking page. 8. Take delivery. The windows travel on stillages to the site address. Unloading is up to you. Check the windows with the driver present; note any damage on the delivery note and photograph it. 9. Store and fit. Keep the windows upright, under cover, away from sun and damp. Remove the protective film no later than 4 weeks after delivery. The declaration of performance and CE documents come with the delivery.
The whole product carries a 2-year GALI warranty. It applies in the delivery country and does not cover damage from incorrect fitting.
The most common mistakes when ordering from abroad
With every enquiry we check sizes, opening sides and item descriptions. The same mistakes have come back for years:
- The opening size instead of the frame size. The window has to be smaller than the opening by the fitting gap. If you are unsure which size to give, send photos and the raw opening sizes and we will check them together.
- Opening side described from outside. A left-hand sash seen from the garden is a right-hand sash seen from the room. Always describe it from inside.
- A shutter added after approval. The box of a top-mounted roller shutter makes the window taller, so a late decision means a new drawing and a new check.
- A sash that is too narrow. An opening sash must be at least 450 mm wide. In a narrow window one sash plus a fixed pane works better.
- Nobody there to unload. The driver does not unload the windows alone. Arrange helpers or a forklift for delivery day.
How long does it take, and where do you start?
From first enquiry to delivery usually takes a few weeks. The quote comes in 3 working days, production takes 3–8 weeks, and the rest is your approval and transport. The fastest start is the made-to-measure window configurator: within minutes you see a price and can compare the same project in two systems. How to price a window in 5 minutes is shown here. Why windows from Poland cost less is explained in Windows from Poland without middlemen, and the countries we deliver to regularly are listed on the Export page.
